Color Deficiency

I was completely unaware that I was color deficient until my Freshman year of college (I always wondered why I failed Art class so much). I was in an Intro to Genetics course and they had us read colorblind tests. It’s interesting to think about what other people see…I never knew any differently, so nothing seemed wrong! Later, I started working as a chemist, and lo and behold, the majority of the chemical analysis I do involve color differentiation. FOR ANYONE THAT HAS TROUBLE DIFFERENTIATING COLORS: GO TO A SPORTING-GOODS STORE AND BUY RED-LENSED “SHOOTING GLASSES”. THEY MAKE THE WORLD VISIBLE!!!

I was tested at a very young age and determined to be “red-green CB” The test on this web site indicates “total colour blindness.” I just wonder how every one else sees color. [more..]
