Living with Graves Opthalmopathy

I was diagnosed with GO in October of 2008, but I feel that I had this for almost a year before . I was experiencing excessively watery eyes, and vision problems tht I associated with aging ( I am in my early fifties.) The docs have said that I hve to be stable for 6 months before they will attempt treatment. Meanwhile, I havae a job and a life and I need to go on living and working. This has been very difficult, and each day I swonder if I will be able to make itto the next day with this. I have extremem double vison. The docs say that they can do surgery once the hot phase of the disease is over. I need to know if any one out there has gone through the surgery and has been able to see without the use of prosm lenses. I am doing the best I can, but some positive feedback from someone who has been through this would be great to hear.
