To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Left Hemifacial Spasm So I am a 26 year old woman, mother of 3. Since the age of 15 I slowly developed what was diagnosed at about the age of 18 as Left Hemifacial spasm. I’ve learned to live with this, but others still stare and even think I am winking at them as to “check them out” My husband and children think this is normal, but know it bothers me ALOT! I cant get medical treatment on a conisistant basis because it is “not medically necessary” however it does hinder me doing certain things with my childre. Such as blowing bubbles or ballons. Occasionally driving is an issue. Private insurance is so expensive for a lower-middle class income. Anyway, just wanted to share my story. September 2008
