Hemifacial spasms

It first started with dizzy spells but my doctor said that it would eventually go away. Thereafter I began to feel the twitching just under my left eye and it continued, so back to the doc who said that there’s nothing to worry about as it will eventually stop. That was 5 yrs ago and I’m still having the twitching and it can be disturbing when I’m sleeping or trying to sleep (if I’m tired, that’s fine; but once I’m awake, it will never stop). At my persistence, my doc finally referred me to a neuro-specialist who gave me botox injections for about 4 times at 3-mth intervals, but it didn’t help; in fact it got worse. I then went for physio treatment, known as mimic-therapy here in the Netherlands, for facial movements; this helped for a while. The neuro suggested MVD surgery, but the risks are too great for me. I now go to the acupuncturist for acupuncture and massage; this helps a little and twitching is not so frequent anymore. And I also try to go to bed early.
