I have just been diagnosed with having retinitis pigmentosa. I’m 25 and have always been fairly healthy and it’s a big shock to me. I’m an engineer in the Air Force and I haven’t told work yet. I have only just been to the optician and he gave me a letter to take to my doctor but I don’t know whether to give it to him yet. I don’t want to lose my job and for them to stop me driving. I’m just not sure what to do, should I just carry on with my life as normal and not tell my doctor? If there is no cure then what is the point is going to see him anyway?
